Bulldogs visit Capitals tonight in Duncan

It's the sixth edition this season of the "Battle of the Valleys" as the Bulldogs (16-13-0-2, 4th Island) make a trip to the Cowichan Valley to face the Capitals (21-11-2-1, 2nd Island) at the Big Stick.

The Bulldogs were last in action Sunday at home, where they concluded a stretch of four games in five days by having their three game winning streak halted 4-1 at the hands of the Powell River Kings.  The Capitals also last played Sunday at home, where they won their third straight, 5-0 over the Salmon Arm Silverbacks.

These teams last met November 30th at the Multiplex, the conclusion of the "swapped home games" series, as the Capitals picked up a 6-4 win, the first team to defeat the Bulldogs in regulation or overtime at home this season. The prior meeting in Duncan was Saturday, November 23rd, a 6-5 Bulldog win in overtime.  The previous two head-to-head meetings were at the Dog Pound a 4-3 Bulldog win on October 25th, following a 3-1 Bulldog triumph on October 5th. The first meeting of the season head to head was in Duncan, was a 3-2 Capitals win on September 20th.

Don't miss a minute of the action, by tuning in to Van Isle Ford Bulldogs Hockey on 93.3 The Peak, with the pregame show taking the airwaves at 6:45, followed by the game action just after 7:00pm. Bruce MacDonald provides game analyis and adds colour commentary, while I call the play-by-play and cover the hosting responsibilities.

Tonight's 2nd Intermission guest is Vanni DeBartolo, the play-by-play voice of the Chilliwack Chiefs, who the Bulldogs host tomorrow night for their annual Teddy Bear Toss game.
