Video - Watson saves the day, MacMillan wins it

Here's some of the highlights from Friday's double overtime. Great call by Rick on the Watson poke check. I was fooled with how it looked when it happened because he lost his stick as well.

It's been a long time since I've heard that kind of "pop" out of the crowd when that one went in and saw arms go up like that.

2009 Lester Cup VIDEO, Fred Page Cup Series opens tonight, former BCHL'er Bozak signs with Leafs

Last week I posted about the amazing day that was the "Lester Cup" at Pacific Coliseum. Here is the video I promised I was working on:



The BCHL Finals kick off tonight, with the Powell River Kings hosting the Vernon Vipers.

Grizzlies pick up big win, Vipers leading, Cooking with Geno - Evgeni Malkin

A couple games last night in the BCHL playoffs, as the Victoria Grizzlies went into Powell River and picked up a huge 6-5 win over the Kings to make a series of it, as they now trail 2 games to 1 in the best of 7. Going down 0-3 wouldn't have been an easy spot for the RBC hosts. They still aren't in an easy spot, but at least tonight it's not do or die. Maybe that's what they need though? Game 7 against Cowichan brought their best game out in them, or at least that's how it appeared from a distance.

The Vernon Vipers shut out Salmon Arm 3-0 to take a 2-1 lead in the Interior Final.

Cooking with Geno - Man this is funny funny stuff. I've said it before - I didn't like Malkin much when he was playing for Russia at the World Juniors, getting ejected for KICKING people....Now that I've seen more of him as a player but also as a personality, I can't not like the guy.

Bulldogs Make Trade, Wong makes All-Star Team as BCHL Announces Coastal Conference Roster.

The Bulldogs have made a trade....Look for a press release here or on the team website sometime today. A full discussion about the move will certainly come on "Bulldogs This Week" tonight.


Congrats to Matthew Wong, who has again made the BCHL All Star Game as the lone representative from the Bulldogs.

The Powell River Kings had 6 players selected, while the Victoria Grizzlies had 4.

Dogs host Kings, Doug Krantz on the 2nd intermission, Dogs trade Nijjar, Tailgate Party today at Boston Pizza!

Just about to get ready to head to the rink for today's game as the Dogs host the Powell River Kings....

The pregame show hits the air at 2:15 and the puck drop and all the play by play is at 2:30.

Chris Moulson will be my first intermission guest, and former Bulldog and Cornell Big Red Defenceman Doug Krantz joins me in the second. Doug has recently been invited to the Boston Bruins rookie camp, so it will be a neat interview.

The Bulldogs sent word out last night they they have traded Mandeep Nijjar to the Weyburn Red Wings of the SJHL. As always, I'd like to wish Mandeep all the best in the SJ. He's a great guy and with the work ethic he posesses I'm hopeful he'll be a mainstay with the Red Wings.

Best of luck "deeper" the league is now one minus one very sharp dressed guy!

Head to Boston Pizza after the game today for the Bulldogs Tail Gate Party! This sounds like it will be a lot of fun.....Kids can sign up for the Bulldogs Kids Club, and play road hockey with the players in the parking lot. Pizza will also be available, by donation.

Inside the resaurant, the Bulldogs players will be your servers!! They will be working for TIPS. All tips will be donated to KIDSPORT, So all kids can play!

Great job Bulldogs organization, great job Boston Pizza!! Hopefully we'll see you down there after the game....Don't forget to bring your ticket stubs!!
