Bulldogs visit Grizzlies tonight for Game Five

It's the fifth meeting between these teams in a week, as the Bulldogs visit the Grizzlies tonight at the Q Centre for Game Five of this Island Division Semi Final series.

The Grizzlies staved off elimination with a 4-1 win in Game Four Wednesday night at the Dog Pound, trimming the Bulldog series lead to 3-1.

After facing significant adversity in losing half of their Defence core while still finding a way to win in Game three, the Bulldogs faced an increased level of adversity and a further depleted line up with more injuries suffered in Game four that they'll carry into tonight's contest.

With the number of bodies that the Bulldogs could be without tonight, it perhaps can't be said any simpler than it needs to be all hands on deck, and everyone needs to give nothing short of their absolute best in all instances and opportunities if the Dogs hope to end the series and get some desperately needed healing time. Here's hoping they can bring that level of desperation. It's not about who's out - the Dogs can't spend one ounce of energy thinking about that, but instead who's in, and what they need to do. I'd expect the Grizzlies to feed off the new life that they've earned themselves, and they'll be feeling good.

Tune in, if you can't make it down, on Pacific Chevrolet Bulldogs Hockey on 93.3 The Peak FM. Our pregame show commences the proceedings at 6:45, with the game action to follow at approximately 7:00. I'll take care of the hosting and play-by-play calling responsibilities, Bruce MacDonald handles the analysis and colour commentating and last but certainly not least statistician Dan Tisserand compiles team and player stats.

Tonight's 2nd Intermission guest is Alex Rawnsley, play-by-play voice of the Powell River Kings, for an update on what's happening in the other Island Division Semi Final series between the Kings and the Nanaimo Clippers.
