It's the first meeting of the the season between the teams, but the third game this year in this building due to the BCHL Showcase as Bulldogs (8-17-2-4, 4th Island) visit the RBC Cup host Chilliwack Chiefs (16-13-2-2, 4th Mainland) at the Prospera Centre.
The Bulldogs were in Prince George last night, where they began this three in three weekend with their fifth straight loss, 4-1 to the Spruce Kings. The Chiefs were in Coquitlam last night, where they won their third straight, 4-2 over the Express.
The Chiefs are one of three teams that the Bulldogs have yet to face going into play tonight - the other two remaining now are the Salmon Arm Silverbacks and the West Kelowna Warriors.
The Chiefs, and the City of Chilliwack are playing host to the RBC Cup National Junior A Championship in May - if you're a fan of hockey, it's an incredible deal and it's relatively close to home for anyone in Port Alberni or in BC for that matter. The hockey is fantastic and the people of Chilliwack I'm sure will put on a great show. I've been fortunate enough to be able to attend a couple RBC Cups, and they never disappoint.
