Bulldogs FINALLY back home, host Vees tonight

After six games in ten days away from home, hockey is back at the Multiplex after a twenty day absence as the Bulldogs (8-14-2-4, 4th Island) host the Penticton Vees (19-5-1-2, 2nd Interior) tonight.

The Bulldogs were last in action Sunday afternoon in Victoria, where they lost 8-5 to the Grizzlies, in a game that they led 5-2 just 1:03 into the second period.

The Vees were in Nanaimo last night, where they won their ninth straight game, 2-1 over the Clippers.  This is their third game so far this week, after they picked up a 3-0 win at home Wednesday night over the West Kelowna Warriors.

This is the third meeting between the teams this season. The most recent meeting was a 4-2 Vees win in Penticton on October 27th. The earlier meeting was a 3-2 Penticton win at the BCHL Showcase in Chilliwack on September 28th. While the Bulldogs ended up on the wrong end of the score in both of those games, perhaps more frustrating when the dust settled from the team perspective is that in both of those contests, they had leads in the third period.

It will be nice to broadcast once again from the friendly confines of the Dog Pound - catch Van Isle Ford Bulldogs Hockey on 93.3 The Peak FM starting with the pregame show at approximately 6:45, with all the game action to follow at 7:00. Bruce MacDonald will provide Colour Commentary and Analysis, while I cover the hosting and play-by-play duties. Dan Tisserand will compile and provide team and player stats. Yep, the whole gang is back together again!

Tonight's 2nd Intermission guest is Steve Erickson, the play-by-play voice of the Surrey Eagles, who the Bulldogs host tomorrow afternoon for their annual Teddy Bear Toss game.
