It's the third meeting of the season between the teams, and the first at the Q Centre since the second night of the season as the Bulldogs (4-9-2-0, 5th Island) visit the Grizzlies (8-2-2-3, 1st Island)
The Bulldogs are coming off a thrilling yet heartbreaking 5-4 double OT loss last night at home against the Cowichan Valley Capitals. The Grizzlies meanwhile ran their unbeaten streak to three with a 4-2 win last night at home over the Langley Rivermen.
The Grizzlies won the first head-to-head meeting, 5-4 in double OT on September 10th. They won the most recent meeting 6-3 at the Dog Pound on September 28th.
Tonight's 2nd Intermission guest is former Bulldog David Dziurzynski, currently with the DEL's Iserlohn Roosters. David is one of the more amazing stories I've had the pleasure of watching unfold in all my time watching Junior Hockey. A 20 year old entering the season, he went from maybe thinking about playing CIS hockey, or coming to the end of his career. An amazing season later, and he was signed by the Ottawa Senators on April 1st 2010, straight out of Junior A. It was almost cruel to have it happen on April Fools, because it was literally almost unbelievable.
Some highlights from the 2009-2010 playoffs where he led the team in scoring.
And my personal favourite
