Dogs return home to host Caps tonight, Matt Hatch interview, Totem 61 continues

After four straight games on the road, the Bulldogs (13-22-2-2, 5th Island) play at home for the first time in 2016 tonight when they host the Cowichan Valley Capitals (19-14-3-2, 3rd Island) at the Dog Pound.

The Dogs were last in action Wednesday in Nanaimo, where they lost their sixth in a row 5-2 to the Clippers.  The Caps haven't played since last Saturday when they topped the Dogs 3-0.

Call me overly optimistic if you will, but I thought the Dogs played a couple good games in both Nanaimo on Wednesday and Duncan on Saturday. I certainly understand that it's a results driven business, and all that matters in the end is whether you win or lose. Having said that, I'm a firm believer that getting down and getting negative won't bring about anything but getting further down and more negativity. If the Dogs weren't working hard and weren't getting their chances and weren't even in the games it would be hard to be positive, but they have been coming ready to play and they have been generating their fair share of chances. It has to be incredibly frustrating to do that and not get results at the end of the night, but I firmly believe if the guys to a man bring their work boots like they did the last two times out that their fortunes will change for the better.

It will be fun to broadcast again from the Dog Pound - catch it all on Pacific Chevrolet Bulldogs Hockey on 93.3 The Peak  starting with the pregame show at 6:45 with the puck drop to follow at 7:00 with Dan Tisserand, Bruce MacDonald and myself providing the team and player statistics, colour and analysis and play-by-play.
