These teams haven't seen each other yet this season, but they will get familiar with each other in a hurry. The Bulldogs (11-22-2-,5 - 5th Island) play host the Silverbacks (20-14-1-5, 4th Interior) tonight before they hit the road next week to visit the Backs on Friday night for the second meeting between the teams in less than a week.
The Bulldogs are coming off a heartbreaking 2-1 OT loss last night in Cowichan that saw them fall three points back. The Caps would probably disagree, or claim that the final result is all that matters, but the Bulldogs carried more of the play and were the better team. Having said that, only one goal isn't going to win you many games. The Dogs need to forget the tough loss, and realize that one of their games in hand on the Capitals is this one tonight. The Silverbacks dropped a 3-1 decision to the Kings in Powell River last night. Coupled with a come-from-behind win for the Centennials in Nanaimo, and the Silverbacks now have just a two point lead over the Cents for the final Playoff spot in the Interior. Points are huge for both sides in this one.
