Bulldogs and Vipers Swap Committed Players
PRESS RELEASE October 1, 2013
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Port Alberni – The Alberni Valley Bulldogs and the Vernon Vipers have completed a deal that addresses a need for both teams.
The Alberni Valley Bulldogs send recently-committed 94 D Jared Wilson to the Vernon Vipers in exchange for 95 F Craig Martin, who is committed to Quinnipiac for 2014/15, and future considerations.
Craig Martin is in his second season with the Vernon Vipers. As a 16 year old with Beaver Valley, Martin scored 48 goals and added 48 assists in 50 regular season games. He went on to contribute 32 additional points in 21 playoff games that season.
This year with the Vipers, Martin has 5 goals and 2 assists in 9 games. He will further strengthen the Bulldogs top 6 and be a compliment to the recent additions of Jakson Elynuik and Harlan Orr.
In return, the Vipers get a proven offensive-defenceman who has earned his way on the NHL watch list as a result of his play during the Bulldogs 2012/13 playoff run and his hot start this season.
The Bulldogs’ strength has been the depth on the back end, especially with the recent addition of Darian Henry who has shown he can bring a lot of success to the Bulldogs on the power play.
The team is very excited to welcome Craig Martin to the Alberni Valley Bulldogs family. The organization would also like to thank Jared Wilson to his contributions to the Alberni Valley Bulldogs and wish him all the best with the Vernon Vipers and with RPI in 2014/15.
