Pellah named to All Stars, Kevin Willison named to Top 35, Dizzy takes one on the chin

Congrats to Bulldogs defender Bo Pellah, named to the BCHL's 2nd All Star team. Full details below!

The British Columbia Hockey League is pleased to announce its all-stars for the 2012-13 season. The winners were chosen after a survey of BCHL coaches. Very cool story here, with congrats due to Bulldogs Head Coach Kevin Willison as he has made the Milwaukee Admirals Top 35 All-time list in honour of the Ads celebrating their 35th Anniversary.

Interesting quote here - no surprise he has ended up Coaching!

“Good teams have good leaders and Kevin was a master at motivating his teammates."

--Former Admirals GM/Coach Phil Wittliff

Kevin was named #12 on the list, ahead of such notables as Dan Hamhuis, Rich Peverly and Chris Mason, to name a few.

Check out the FULL LIST HERE

VERY COOL write up on the Admiral's page about Kevin's  career, including videos from the night the Admirals retired Kevin's jersey. Check it out HERE

From very cool - to not cool.

I'm sure most of you have seen this already, if not, you probably don't want to. Former Bulldog David Dziurzynski took one on the chin last night in a fight with Fraser McLaren of the Maple Leafs. It wasn't even 30 seconds into the game. My phone blew up with people from Flin Flon to Port Alberni asking me if I saw it. I didn't see it at the time, and I didn't like seeing it after. No one likes seeing a friend in bad shape. It's one of the dangers of fighting, sometimes you will get caught on the button. I thought Dizzy was actually faring quite well until he got one on the kisser.

Credit to McLaren for not being a donkey after the fight and maintaining some class. I heard back from Dizzy, he's alright. He was no doubt concussed, and probably more embarrassed than anything. The thing I'm most concerned with is that this might halt his development and jepordize his chances of remaining in the NHL. Here's to hoping that's not the case, as he has had to overcome way more than this to reach where he is at today.
