Raise a Reader Road Hockey Challenge tomorrow, Dogs Community Involvement, Toy Run this weekend!

The Raise a Reader "Road Hockey Challenge" goes tomorrow night in the Alberni Valley Mulitplex parking lot. The event gets underway at 5pm, the "ball" drops on all the action at 6pm. I will be providing play-by-play, and The Peak's David Wiwchar and Jolie McMullan will be Mc'ing and playing in the game against the Bulldogs and other local celebrities. I have heard that there is a team list out already, but I haven't seen it yet.

Quality Foods and Dave's Catering are teaming up for the BBQ at 5pm. Other fun stuff on site includes a Bouncy Tent, a Shooter Tutor and more. KIDS - sign up for the Bulldogs Kids Club as the team will be set up in front of the Multiplex.

This event was a ton of fun last year - most of all I remember Justin Morello being UNBEATABLE in net! Fun stuff!

The Dogs have done a great job being involved in the community - they have been out at "Our Town" events, Salmon Fest, and they were everywhere for Fall Fair. They have the Raise a Reader game Wednesday, an Exhibition Game in Duncan Friday, they are home to the Capitals on Saturday and Sunday the team will be out at the Terry Fox Run. For being as busy as they are - remember they are in the process of icing a team for the coming season - they are still doing a great job of being out in the community. I think it's hugely important to be out and about and involved when you call a community of this size home, and the Dogs seem to agree! Way to go Bulldogs!
