Ryan Renz to Northeastern, Interview on THE PEAK tomorrow, Alberni Wrestling Kids Camps

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs would like to announce that 93 D Ryan Renz has committed to Northeastern University for the 2011-2012 season. The 6’1’, 200 pound defenceman will return to the Bulldogs for the 2010-2011 season.



Renz posted 2 goals and 10 assists in 20 regular season games for the Bulldogs last season. Renz also contributed 1 goal and 7 assists in 13 playoff games.





“ We are very excited for Ryan to secure a NCAA scholarship,” comments GM/Head Coach Paul Esdale. “Ryan will be looked upon to play big minutes for us next season. We are excited to watch him develop into one of the premier defenceman in the BCHL,”
adds Esdale.

Alberni Wrestling is hosting their Annual Kids Wrestling Camp this week July 6-8 at ADSS. The free camp runs two hours per day from 10 am – noon in the ADSS gym.  The first session is Tuesday July 6th.  

Boys and girls ages 7-12 are welcome to come out whether they have any experience or not. This is a introductory camp designed to give kids exposure to the sport of Olympic Wrestling in a safe and fun atmosphere.  Registration forms are available at the camp. Doors will open at 9:30 am each day for registration. Participants can come for one day , two or all three days. Coaches will be from the wrestling programs at ADSS, Neill and Dunn. Current wrestlers are reminded to come out and help.

Starting Sunday the local wrestling program hosts their more advanced camp for four days. Local wrestlers are reminded that the first session starts at noon on Sunday July 11. The Alberni Camp will once again be the final selection process for the Island Team going to the BC Summer Games in Langley July 22-25.
