Well, who knows what to expect out of tonight as the Dogs and Capitals meet for the third straight time.
What do you expect out of a rematch two days after a 10-2 win for one team, with a couple mini line brawls and a goalie running when the game was out of reach?
More of the same? Or two well behaved teams after a stern talk from the league office to stay away from the shenanigans?
Will there be suspensions? Not sure yet. Just one mans opinion here - but the suspensions or lack thereof could dictate how tonight plays out.
Make no mistake - points are important to both teams. The Surrey Eagles burned one of their games in hand on the Dogs last night as they lost 5-1 to Nanaimo. The Dogs lead still sits at 10 points with the Eagles having a game in hand. The Burnaby Express burned one of their games in hand on the Capitals as they lost 7-5 to Burnaby. So the Capitals still lead them by three points with the Express now holding one game in hand.
The Dogs are a perfect 7 and 0 against the Capitals this season. With this being the last meeting of the season between the Caps, the Dogs will want to secure the sweep - hopefully just as bad as the Caps will want to avoid the sweep.
It will be easy for the Dogs to take the Caps lightly after beating them by eight goals - hopefully the Dogs remember the game BEFORE Christmas, the hard fought 3-2 game, instead of the game AFTER Christmas.
At this level or any level, if you take your opponent lightly - you have already lost. Or you have at least made losing alot more likely.
Catch the pregame tonight on 93.3 THE PEAK FM at 6:45 with the puck drop and play-by-play at 7:00.
