The Dogs have two games to go before the Christmas break. They will play their final home game before the holidays tonight when they host the Williams Lake Timberwolves at the POUND.
Job #1 for the Dogs is to not take the Timberwolves lightly. Yes - they are playing their fourth game in as many days. Yes they are in the bottom on the Interior Conference. Yes the Dogs beat the T-Wolves 5-3 a week ago tonight in Williams Lake.
YES - the T-wolves DID play the Dogs very tough in that game. And YES this is their last game before the Christmas break.
While I know it can also be a distraction, I'm guessing the excitement of going home and seeing family and friends will be a motivator to the T-Wolves. They will see the proverbial "light at the end of the tunnel" today when they start thinking about this game.
Now, does that mean they'll check out early and they wont be into this one? Or does it mean they have all day to think about going home and focus on how they want to go out on a winning note?
It's easy to forget that these are all just kids - young men, etc. Going home for Christmas after being gone from home for a while is a very very big deal.
Catch the pregame show tonight at 6:45 with the play-by-play at 7:00 on 93.3 The Peak FM (click the listen live link if you are out of radio range) or get the Pay-Per-View broadcast through the league website www.bchl.ca
Everyone in the Interior did the Dogs a favour last night - Surrey lost, Victoria lost, Nanaimo lost. Now the Dogs need to do themselves a favour.
See you tonight, talk to you tonight!!
