BRAVES – BULLDOGS BATTLE CONTINUES
The close rivalry between the AV Midget Bulldogs and the Saanich Braves carried over from last year’s Island championship (which the Bulldogs won in a tight three game series) to an exhibition game in Saanich on Saturday. The game was close through three periods keeping the crowd, which included several scouts, on the edge of their seats. It ended in a 3-3 tie.
Coach Brent Demerais is pleased with how the team is coming together this year. He said “They played pretty well against a larger physical team. We controlled the puck most of the time. Gianni Crema was strong in net and Brady Jansen had a really good game.”
Jansen assisted on the first Alberni goal, which was scored by Jeff Dagg, and scored the second goal. Colby Lim deflected Luciano Somerville’s shot for the tying goal with 30 seconds left in the game.
