Dogs blank Shipmen 3-0
The much maligned power play struck twice and the penalty kill was again 100% as the Dogs picked up their 5th win of a 6 game stretch in the Pound.
Curtis Tonello and Mitch MacMillan had powerplay goals, and Luke Fenske added the other with the first of his career.
Frank Slubowski was rock solid picking up his first career shutout.
I have sadly misplaced my paper copies of the Dogs results from 2003-2004 and 2004-2005 seasons, because I'm not sure or not if this was the first ever shutout by the Dogs over the Clippers.
The Dogs played a disciplined and physical game not yet displayed this season, or at least not with that many "crunches"
Sunday afternoon at the Multiplex from 3:00 to 4:45 there is a "Skate with the Bulldogs" along with sign ups for the Dogs Kids Club. Outside there will be a BBQ courtesy of the good folks at Safeway with proceeds going towards the Bulldogs "Pink the Rink" campaign for Breast Cancer Awareness.
Thanks Kaicee for the picture.
Way to go Dogs!

The Clippers even pulled their goalie with 1:30 left to break the shutout. Bestwick probably didn't want to get shutout by the "student" in the first game against each other.
