Just had to post this quickly....Did anyone else notice who the first people were that Linden mentioned?
Robson, Shorthouse, Hughson, Larschied.
Never before have I heard anyone go right at the broadcasters like that, thanking them off the top and saying how lucky the fans were to have such quality people covering their team.
Trevor gets it. I knew that already of course with all his community and charity work. After seeing how he led things off tonight he obviously gets how to connect to the community and fanbase, as well and the role the broadcasters share in that area..Cool stuff, long live Linden.

Things that I noticed on the retirement ceremony were, where was Pavel Bure? Also that Pat Quinn and Jim Robson need to have their names in the rafters as well.
What was up with his wife? She didn't look very happy, no smiles or tears or anything.
His wife was probably doing everything she could to hold it together. I did see her crying when the banner was raised to the rafters and saw a few smiles too.
She probably wasn't too keen on being out in the spotlight either.
I agree, Quinn should be up there.
Robson is on the pressbox, that's the broadcaster's version of your number being retired!
