Scary news from the hockey world.....
WINDSOR, Ont. - A university goaltender is in fair condition in a Windsor, Ont., hospital after having his throat accidentally slashed during a game.
Kury Jory, of Brandon, Man., was hurt Saturday while in net for the Brock University Badgers from St. Catharines, Ont., against the Windsor Lancers.
The 21-year-old netminder suffered a severed vein in his neck when he was clipped by a skate during a goalmouth scramble in the third period.
The Badgers say Jory is in full recovery after undergoing surgery and will return to St. Catharines in a few days.
The Canadian Hockey League requires players to wear neck guards, but Canadian Interuniversity Sport does not have a similar requirement. (CKLW)

Good to hear that Jory will be OK. Kurt played for the Langley Chiefs last season.
Players, parents, coaches - Hug a trainer, and respect and help your trainers. You never know when they'll have to save your life.
Former Bulldogs Isaac Smeltzer and Stephen Pattison play for Brock. I haven't talked to them yet but I'm going to attempt to drop them a line today to make sure they're OK. A pretty traumatic event for sure.
