Apparently I'm a pretty big deal? | Way to go PATTY!

I got this stunner of an email on Friday. I'm inclined to believe that it's someone up to no good, or someone up to a prank. Kinda weird, no? What do you all think of it? If you are reading this "Steven" then please accept my apologies. I don't get autograph requests too often.

Dear Mr Hammond,

My name is Steve and it is very nice to meet you sir I am a very big hockey fan and watch hockey all the time on tv and I go to a lot of games to as I am a season ticket holder for the Springfield falcons of the AHL and never miss a game Sir and it would be a dream come true to meet You in person someday and shake your hand and just say hi until then it would be a great honor to have your autograph so I was wondering if I could please have a autograph 8x10 picture of You for my collection and if you can Sir please make it out to Steve as that would mean a lot to me sir thank you Sir my address is.

Again, kinda weird, no?

Moving along...I had this on the hockey broadcasts a while back but forgot to put it on the blog for those that missed it the first time around. I want to sent congratulations out to former Bulldog Stephen Pattison for the great night he had a couple of weeks back with the Brock Badgers in the CIS. Read more below in the email Stephen's dad sent my way. GREAT to hear this kind of news. Anyone else out there- parents or followers of the alumni- NEVER be shy to drop me a line to update me on their progress please!

Just a quick note to say hi and a couple of links to Stephen's game of last night and team for this year.

I don't know if this is noteworthy at all - I leave this to your sound judgement and, after all, I'm just the Dad as you know - but Steve scored his first CIS goal last night which proved to be the game winner and he was named first star. Steve may not be an Alberni native though he thinks he is. He has spent the last three years there and he plans on returning to Port for the summer coming up. The drawing power of a great town and a great girlfriend!

Keeping up with former Alumni- 2005-2006 Bulldog goaltender Brian Stewart will be my guest for the second intermission Saturday night as the Dogs host the Westside Warriors. If you can't tune in to the broadcast, I'm sure that the Dogs will put it up on their Multimedia site so be sure to check it out.

One more on the players being out in the community- I got this email and picture last week from Ron Doetzel from the City of Port Alberni after he was in on my morning show talking about KidSport and how the Bulldogs were involved.

Here is the photo from the Bulldogs visit to Gill School last week. The
players played a fun floor hockey game with the students during the
school lunch break. The players were at the school to promote the
KidSport Port Alberni program.
