There's lots of tickets left - BUT they are going VERY fast.

Nice of Jess Moser to step up and work the office as I made the mistake of wondering aloud yesterday on the air if the office would be open today. Turns out it wasn't, but she's going in anyway.
My bad - For some reason I thought that for Tuesday games that the office was open on Mondays. I don't know how I came up with that in my head - please accept my apologies fans and ladies in the office!

Bulldogs Office Open 10am tomorrow....
Jess Moser will be manning (womanning?) the Dogs office starting at 10am tomorrow for ticket sales for Tuesdays game against the Vipers.
Please spread the word, and get your tickets in a hurry. I know there's lots of seats available, but with Bulldog fever apparently running wild in the city I imagine they'll go fast.

Bulldogs @ Chiefs in battle of streaks
What a match up this afternoon in Langley, as the two hottest teams in the BCHL are set to do battle.
The Bulldogs have won 13 in a row. The Chiefs have won 12 in a row.
The teams have split the regular season so far with each club winning their home game - the Dogs took game 1 way back in September, with the Chiefs taking game 2 on November 1st.
This has all the makings of being a classic. Or does it? The Dogs are playing their third game in two and a half days, on their second straight 3-in-3 roadtrip weekend.
The Chiefs are also playing their third game of this week, although they did have Friday night off as they played Thursday night and last night.
I hope it's a classic, but sometimes afternoon games have a habit of being a little lacklustre. I hope this one lives up to it's billing, and we'll see a great game between two teams fighting to keep their streaks alive.
A Bulldog win puts them 15 points up on Powell River for the Coastal lead. A Chief win puts them 1 point back of Powell River for 2nd place.
Today's second intermission feature guest is former Bulldog D Man Maury Edwards. Maury has done great since he graduated from the Junior A game to the NCAA game with UMASS-Lowell so don't miss it!

Sprucing up the bus...
Credit to Paul Esdale for the candle idea, as he mentioned last weekend that in his professional playing days they used to light a candle on the bus to take the "edge" off, so to speak.
And credit to me - and the Dollar Store in Powell River - for picking up this bad boy yesterday. Smells like fresh springtime rain or something lovely like that!

Alberni Valley Bulldogs to shadow Canucks on Hockey Day in Canada, Express back to Coquitlam.....
Pretty cool story here regarding the Best Western Barclay Hotel - Smitty's Restaurant Alberni Valley Bulldogs.
I'm not 100% what level this is - maybe Pee Wee?
I first heard about this on Sunday afternoon in Nanaimo when Dan Tisserand told me he was watching the "After Hours" program following Hockey Night in Canada and the Vancouver vs. Calgary game.
He said there was a story regarding some minor hockey Bulldogs who had won a contest of some sort to go to a Canucks game.
The part that really got my attention - he also said they showed a picture on the program that looked quite similar to one of the pictures I took that I then posted here on the blog from the Teddy Bear Toss in Port Alberni....
Long story short - it all slipped my mind with how busy the week has been preparing for the All-Star Broadcast and now this road trip.
As I was leaving work yesterday I got a voicemail from Steve Harvey telling me to check out the Canucks website as a Bulldog team had won a contest. Now that I have some free time on the road in the hotel I looked it all up - and it's pretty darn cool!!

Now - what I really want to know is - did you guys really use my picture and did it get on Hockey Night in Canada? Cool stuff if you did, and congrats and have fun!
It sounds as if the Burnaby Express have sounded the horn and are rolling back down the tracks to Coquitlam - although a little greasing of the tracks might be required still.

Vancouver, BC – The Canucks Centre, BC Hockey and CBC are pleased to announce that the Barclay-Smitty’s Alberni Valley Bulldogs Minor Hockey team has won the opportunity to shadow the Canucks for Hockey Day in Canada through the first annual Canucks Centre Poster Contest. The Bulldog’s exciting day will include team travel/accommodation to Vancouver to watch the Vancouver Canucks take on the Chicago Blackhawks on January 23, 2010. The winning team also has the opportunity to meet members of the Vancouver Canucks and attend their morning game day skate. The day will be documented and included as part of CBC Television’s Hockey Day in Canada broadcast on January 30th when the Vancouver Canucks hit the road to take on the Toronto Maple Leafs.
In celebration of CBC Hockey Day in Canada, registered Pee-Wee and Bantam minor hockey teams from around BC were invited to participate in the contest. Teams were asked to showcase their team spirit through an original picture or poster submitted online and a story about their most memorable team experience. A total of 40 teams from throughout British Columbia submitted entries. The entries were then judged by a panel represented by BC Hockey, CBC and Canucks Centre for BC Hockey. The winning team’s story and poster was chosen the best representation of team and association pride.
The announcement of the winning team was made on Hockey Night in Canada’s After Hours January 9, 2010 by CBC representative Kevin Weekes. Canucks Centre, BC Hockey and CBC are proud to show their ongoing support growing team spirit within BC hockey communities.
