Bulldogs (weather willing) return to action tonight to host Kings at Multiplex

It's the first game of  the  New Year for both clubs, as (weather willing) the Alberni Valley Bulldogs (20-14-0-2, 3rd Island) return to action following the Christmas break tonight by hosting the Powell River Kings (19-19-2-0, 4th Island) tonight at the  Multiplex for the  first game of a back to back set.

This game of course was supposed to be the conclusion of the two game set - that will be now moved to Sunday evening at 6:00pm after last night's postponement due to inclement weather.

The Bulldogs  last played December 22nd in Surrey, where they won their fifth straight on the road, and third straight overall 3-2 over the Eagles in a shoot out.  The Kings have played twice already since returning from their break, most recently playing on New Year's Eve at home where they fell 5-4 to the Nanaimo Clippers.

These teams last met December 8th at the Multiplex, when the Kings emerged with a 4-1 win. The prior meeting was on November 2nd in Port Alberni, a 4-0 Bulldog win. This is the fifth meeting of the season between the teams. The Kings took the first two meetings by scores of 6-3 and 6-5 in Powell River on the first two nights of the season way back on September 6th and 7th.
