HAMMER ITS TO BAD THAT THE BULLDOG ORGANIZATION DONT DO MORE OF THIS,NOT FOR THE END OF THE SEASON.ON AN AVERAGE NIGHT ATTENDANST HAS FALLEN TO 1100 FANS,ITS NOT TEN YEARS AGO WHERE AS THE OLDER FANS THAT CAME OUT JUST ARENT COMING ANYMORE AS THEY AGE.I KNOW OF ALOT OF THE FANS THAT R OLDER COMPLAIN ABOUT NO HEAT ON IN THE ARENA AN NOTHINGS DONE ABOUT IT,BUT RON PAULSON SAYS WE HAVE THE BEST ICE WELL THAT DOESNT BRING THE OLDER AND RETIRES THAT LOVE HOCKEY TO THE GAME.IF U TAKE THOSE TICKETS THAT R NOT SOLD LIKE ABOUT 500 AND GIVE THEM OUT TO THE SCHOOLS AND THE YOUNGER GENERATION ,THEYLL MAYBE BRING THEIR PARENTS AND THE ATTENDENCED WOULD GO UP ITS NOT COSTING THE DOGS NOTHING AS THE TICKETS ARENT SOLD ANYWAY NANAIMO DOES IT VICTORIA DOES IT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SEASON TO SHOW FANS OF HOCKEY THE PRODUCT ON THE ICE.ONE MORE THING I CAN SIT IN NANAIMOS ARENA IN A SHORT SLEEVE SHRIT WHERE HERE I HAVE TO WEAR A PARKA AND FREEZE. IF THE ORANIZATION HERE DONT START MAKING THE FANS COMFORTABLE THEN U CAN SAY BYE TO OUR JUNIOR HOCKEY HERE. PACK THE PLEX IS NOT THE ONLY GAME TO DO IT ONCE A YEAR. PARENTS
Thanks for the comment...there's one in every crowd and it appears you are it. You can have an opinion just like I can - I also think our rink is freezing - but then I remember that it's a hockey rink with a giant sheet of ice. The City controls the heat - not the hockey team, as far as I'm aware. Maybe something you can campaign city hall for if you feel so passionately it's certainly your right to make your voice heard. There is just one bank of heaters on either side of the rink over not even a third of the sections if I remember correctly. Not the fault of the team on that one I don't think.
And again my 2 cents you should NOT be able to go to a hockey rink and be comfortable in a t-shirt. Funny you mention Nanaimo, worst ice I have seen in recent memory, everyone was talking quite frequently last Friday as to how the puck was bouncing all over the place like a tennis ball. If the quality of play and the quality of the game is effected to appease the fans, I think that is a problem, but that's just me and one mans opinion.
About tonight - how about celebrate and enjoy the evening instead of crapping on it - is my first thought. I'm just plain EXCITED for a great atmosphere and I am blown away by this great community and everything they have done, and everything the Bulldogs have done to make it a special special night.
HAMMER NOT CRAPPING ON TONIGHT IVE BEEN A FAN SINCE DAY 1 LONG BEFORE U GOT HERE ALL IM SAYING TURN UP THE HEAT AND HAVE MORE OF THESE NIGHTS AND THEYLL SELL MORE TICKETS IF U GIVE AWAY 50 U MIGHT GET ANOTHER 10 TO 15 FULL TIME FANS AND MAYBE SEASON TICKET HOLDERS IN THE FUTURE AS U BEING A BROADCASTER KNOW THE POWER OF ADVERTIZING WHEN YOUR RADIO STATION CAST FROM THE DIFFERENT BUSSINESS LOCATIONS IN PA AND GIVE AWAY TICKETS PRIZES ETC. OH YEA THE PUCK BOUNCES AROUND HERE ALOT TO IN OUR NET.
In response to anonymous, as Hammer said it is an arena, so wear some warmer clothes, we all do it! If you are cold then make some noise and warm yourself up that way. I loved the atmosphere and everything about last night other than the final score. It is to bad the organization didn't do more 10th anniversary celebrations this season, but it also probably takes money and more people to do that. I look forward to seeing the recruiting videa that will come from the video and pictures last night. Also to all the people that did come out last night, please come out again next year. We all understand that season tickets are not cheap when you have a family but if each family came to 10 or so games a year that would increase the attendance a lot. Let's also hope that this is the beginning of the rebuilding and we go up from here. It's funny when we didn't have a BCHL team, there was lots of people who wanted it and brought it here. Now people take it for granted that it is here and they will always be here. Let's go out and cheer the boys on, because when that rink is full it is the best rink in the BCHL. Let's not think about what we had instead of being grateful of what we have now! Sorry for my rambling but I love this team and am proud of them and my community. P.S. Thank you to all the volunteers to coaches and everyone that has anything to do with Bulldogs game in and game out!
HAMMER A GREAT NIGHT BUT WE ALL DONT COME FROM FLIN FLON WHERE ITS 45 BELOW. ALL I WAS TRYING TO POINT OUT WE HAVE LOST SENIOR CITIZEN FANS BECAUSE OF THE COLD ARENA .IM FROM THE COLD PRARIES TO 42 YRS AGO AND IM ALSO STILL PAYING ON MY TAXES FOR FOR OUR RINK SAYING THAT HAMMER THIS IS NOT A P....... MATCH JUST MY OPPION AND ALOT OF OTHER FANS.
