FINALLY, after a three month break, the Stanley Cup Final kicks off tonight in Vancouver, and on your radio on 93.3 The Peak FM with the pregame show kicking off at 4:30 with the puck drop and play-by-play to follow at 5:00.
It was a small but enthusiastic group of 44, playing in the Carlson Wagonlit Twin Travel & Cruises Scramble on Sunday. The weather was good and the course is getting better with each passing day.
It was good seeing Wayne Cheveldave playing again. Welcome back Chevy.
The team of Tyler Ibsen, Jerry White, Paul Saulnier and Joe Baker came out on top with a 6 under Par 64. In second place was the group of Jim Proteau, Bill Kriwoken and Masami Hirayama, with only 3 players, they took turns hitting the fourth shot. Third prize was awarded to Steve White, Gary Korven, Owen Paxton and Brian Douillard.
Closest to the pin were won by Jim Proteau on #2, Brian Douillard took home $20 for the Charity closet to the pin on #4, Jim Petersen on #13, Tom Price on #17, not to shabby for 88 years of age, and for his second shot on #6 it was Tyler Ibsen. Steve White won a gift certificate complements of The Westwind Pub for his long drive on #5.
Sorry Guys for all us losers the two $50 draws for some reason didn’t happen. They will be drawn in the Red, White and Blue competition which takes place in two weeks.
Next week will be open with the $5 optional event happening called the tombstone. Check with Club Captain Fred Fredrickson to find out what that’s all about. Also don’t forget the ball sweep, money pot and the Charity closest to the pin.
Fifty-Two Players showed up for the first Stableford Tournament of the season held on May 23rd . Some things never change as Bob Price started off the year the same way he ended last year, coming first with 41 points.
