Eagles 4 Dogs 3

Another heartbreaker for the Dogs tonight as they battled back from a 4-2 deficit after two periods to make it 4-3, but that's as close as they would get as a Casey Bailey shot late in the game rang off the bar and stayed out.

The Dogs scored first for the second straight game as Colton Sobchak fired a rebound home off a Connor Varley shot that was set up by Trent Dorais. The Eagles tied it late in the period on a perfect powerplay set up for Linden Saip, who scored in his Eagles debut. Less than a minute later the Eagles struck on an odd-man rush to lead 2-1 after one.

Another powerplay goal by Sam Mitchell made it 2-2 in the second, but the Eagles again took the lead on a seeing eye wrist shot from the point to make it 3-2. The Eagles made it 4-2 later in the period on a beauty by Robert Lindores, as he beat a Bulldog defender in front and then put a backhand far side past Slubowski.

The Dogs didn't quit, no surprise there, as Brandon Adams put a slap shot from the high slot off the post and in on the powerplay to make it 4-3. The Dogs would keep up the attack in the third, having countless chances on the scramble but they couldn't find the equalizer. The Dogs got more chances as the Eagles got in penalty trouble with a minor and a double minor but the Dogs again had tough luck as they were unable to find the net on several glorious chances. One final break went against the Dogs late as Casey Bailey rang a shot off the crossbar that stayed out.

Final shots favoured the Eagles 32-30.

Say what you will, but in my opinion I thought the Dogs deserved better in this one with how they played the 3rd, but I guess that's why you don't want to be playing comeback hockey.

The Dogs have a day off for travel tomorrow as they head up to Quesnel. Friday they will practice in Quesnel, before they face the Spruce Kings in Prince George Saturday.

That's two game winners for Lindores over the Dogs. Gotta hurt for a team that need scoring.

hahahahaha thats some funy stuff! too bad the eagles do not play the bulldogs every night, or lindores would maybe have 60 goals, instead of SIX.

hammer always takes the high road, and people always wanna take the low road and throw shots. all the questions last year where's lindores, whys lindores not playing. hammer along with anyone else knew lindores was stupid enough to get in a streetfight over a girl. and thats why he was in nolan grahams dog house. hed probably still be in alberni if not for that. or maybe graham felt sorry for lindores for local pressures he couldnt get away from (see above) so he traded him as future considerations in the tye lewis curtis tonello trade. robert can be a good addition to a team, but if its for scoring, lets get real, its not midget anymore, its junior a
