Bulldogs host Kings today *2:00 start*

It's just the second time this season that the Bulldogs (15-26-3-0, 4th Island) play host to the Powell River Kings (27-16-1-0, 2nd Island) as these two Island rivals meet for a matinee affair today at the Multiplex.

The Bulldogs last played Friday night, when they snapped a three game losing streak with a 6-3 win over the Salmon Arm Silverbacks.  The Kings were at home Friday night, where they picked up a 5-1 win against the Victoria Grizzlies They also hosted the Grizzlies last night, winning their second in a row by a 6-1 score

These teams last met December 1st in Powell River, a 3-2 Bulldog win in overtime. The only previous meeting this season in Port Alberni was a 4-0 Bulldog win on November 10th. The Bulldogs are 2-2-0-0 head to head against the Kings this season, while the Kings are 2-1-1-0.

Van Isle Ford Bulldogs Hockey on 93.3 The Peak FM goes live today at 1:45 for our pregame show, with the game action to follow at 2:00. I'll call the play-by-play while Bruce MacDonald provides game analysis and colour commentary.

Today's 2nd Intermission guest is former Bulldog Manny Gialedakis, now with the ECHL's Norfolk Admirals. Manny was part of the thrilling 2012-2013 Island Championship season, and it's a pretty cool picture above to see Manny with another member of that team Ryan Lough, playing at the professional level.
