Bulldogs host Capitals tonight

(photo: Tali Campbell)

It's right back at it for these two squads, as they play their second head to head game in three days, as the Bulldogs (12-24-3-4, 4th Island) host the Capitals (9-30-3-2, 5th Island) for another big four-point game tonight at the Dog Pound.

These teams last played Wednesday night in Duncan, where the Capitals snapped a two game losing streak with a big 6-2 win. They will of course meet again tomorrow night in Duncan to conclude this three-game in four days mini series.

It goes without saying like Wednesday, that this is as big as a game gets in January. The Bulldogs failed in getting it done in Duncan, and full credit to the Caps for the win. The Bulldogs need to find the extra gear to raise their level of desperation. You can bet the Caps will be feeling good after last game.

Don't forget to bring a book tonight!

The trio you see above, left to right - Bruce MacDonald, Dan Tisserand and myself will bring the game to you, on Van Isle Ford Bulldogs Hockey on 93.3 The Peak FM. The pregame show is on the air at 6:45, the puck drop and game action follows at 7:00. Bruce adds colour commentary and analysis, Dan covers the team and player stats, and I call the play-by-play.

Tonight's 2nd Intermission guest is ..... if you have managed to attempt to read this and aren't still distracted by that majestic moustache/beard combo - former Bulldog Eric Therrien, now into his Junior season with the NCAA's Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons.

Here's a beautiful goal he scored in the 2015 Playoffs....
