Alberni Valley Bulldogs forward Tristan Bukovec has been named the BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 11, the league announced Monday.
Bukovec went off on opening night, scoring all the ‘Dogs’ goals in a 4-1 road win over the Nanaimo Clippers. He completed his hat trick by 2:38 of the second period and added the fourth shortly after. He was named the game’s 1st Star.
The Penticton, B.C. native added an assist the next night in a 5-4 double overtime loss to the Victoria Grizzlies. Bukovec, who had six goals all of last season, is the early leader in the BCHL scoring race.
