The 2015 portion of the BCHL schedule kicks off tonight as the Bulldogs (17-12-1-3, 4th Island) host the Surrey Eagles (7-26-0-3, 5th Mainland) at the Dog Pound.
The Bulldogs were last in action on New Year's Eve in Powell River, where they won their second in a row, 3-2 over the Kings in double overtime. The Eagles were last in action Tuesday night at home where they also won their second in a row, 3-2 over the Chilliwack Chiefs.
It's the second meeting between the teams this season, with the Bulldogs picking up a 6-2 win in Surrey on November, 22nd.
Stop me if you've heard this one before, but what's most important in this one is that the Dogs come ready to play, and don't take the Eagles or their record for granted. The 6-2 scoreline in Surrey isn't reflective of how hard that game was for the Bulldogs as the Eagles took an early lead and it took until the back half of the second for the Dogs to take control of the game. If you aren't ready to play, you aren't going to have a good night, plain and simple. While the Eagles have had a very tough go of it this year and have only won seven games, keep in mind that they have won three of those seven in just their last four conests, so they are surely feeling pretty good right now about where they are at.
Get all the action with myself, Bruce MacDonald, and Dan Tisserand providing the Play-by-Play, Colour and Analyis and Team and Player statistics on Van Isle Ford Bulldogs Hockey on 93.3 The Peak FM with the pregame show taking the airwaves at 6:45 and puck dropping at 7:00.
