Bulldogs top Capitals 8-5



Bulldogs take a 1-0 lead 4:25 into the first period as Scott Clark scores short-side high from in tight on the power play. Tyler Povelovskie picks up the only assist.

Bulldogs take a 2-0 lead Patrick Lyster pots a rebound on the rush fro Jake Vitta and Evan Tironese at 10:21

Capitals make it 2-1 when Luke Santerno scores on a quick pass out front from Kyle Barron at 13:29.

Bulldogs re-establish the two goal lead while shorthanded when Zach Funk pots a rebound in front off a Tyler Povelofskie from the right circle at the 17:00 minute mark of the first.

Capitals answer back on the same power play to make it 3-2 as Brayden Gelsinger scores seven hole on a pass out of the right corner from Jake Switzer at 18:15 of the first

Bulldogs take a 4-2 lead just 1:35 into the second when Scottie Clark deflects home a Josh Harvey shot. Chase Gaudreault also drew an assist.

Bulldogs build the lead to 5-2 when Mitch Hawes sneaks a rebound under the arm of Corley. Connor Logan and Chase Gaudreault assist at 5:41 of the second.

Bulldogs go up 6-2 when Chase Gaudreault deflects home a Kurt Gosselin shot on the power play at 10:48.

The four-goal advantage is short lived as the Caps answer back nine seconds later to make it 6-3 as Luke Santerno scores his second of the game from Daniel Wanner and Keegan Milligan at 10:57 on a nice move on the rush.

The Capitals get back within two late in the frame on a pretty cross-ice set up on the power play as Colton Kehler one-times a pass from Braeden Gelsinger past the blocker of Nathan Warren. Jake Switzer also picked up an assist at 19:42 of the second for a 6-4 Dogs lead after 40 minutes.

Shots favour the Bulldogs 31-17.

Bulldogs 2 for 5 on PP while also scoring once shorthanded.
Capitals 2 for 5.

Bulldogs make it 7-4 just short of six minutes into the third when Darian Henry misses on the breakaway out of the penalty box as the puck bounced off his stick. Henry does a nice job to stay with it and centers it to Tyler Povelofskie who one-times it home at 5:57 of the third.

Capitals answer back quickly on a 2 on 1 rush as Thomas Gobeil converts a cross-ice pass from Braeden Gelsinger at 7:48..but the Bulldogs answer right back just 25 seconds later as Josh Adkins tips home a Kurt Gosselin point shot at 8:13 with Jeff Rose also drawing an assist on the play. 

There would be no scoring the rest of the way.

Shots favoured the Bulldogs 42-27

Unofficial Special Teams numbers - Bulldogs went 2 for 9 on the PP while also scoring once shorthanded. Capitals went 2 for 7

Nathan Warren and Alex Corley went the distance in net.

With the win the Bulldogs improve to 1 and 1 in pre season play, while the Capitals fall to 0 and 2.
