Dogs host Cents this afternoon - *3pm start*, Fan Appreciation Day, Wear Red and White

It's Fan Appreciation Day as the Bulldogs (18-27-2-6, 5th Island) host the Merritt Centennials (28-20-4-1, 4th Interior) at the Dog Pound for a rare 3:00pm start.

In honour of it being fan appreciation day, the first 200 through the door will receive a set of player cards courtesy of the Game Day Sponsor, The Alberni Valley News. There will also be a BBQ Postgame put on by Quality Foods and the Bulldogs will be available after the game for Autographs.Fans are encouraged to wear Red and White to support the Canadian Olympic team!

The Bulldogs were of course supposed to play the Kings last night in Powell River, but a cancelled Ferry saw the game rescheduled to February 25th.  The Centennials are finishing a three-in-three road trip that saw them in Powell River Friday where they beat the Kings 4-1, before they did the Bulldogs a bit of a favour last night in Duncan where they tied the game with four minutes to go before winning it in the first minute of OT, 4-3 over the Caps.

While the Dogs lost ground in the standings and now sit two points back, I prefer to look at it positively in that they gained an opportunity as they now have a game in hand

These teams last met last Saturday night in Merritt, where the Centennials picked up a 4-2 win.
Don't miss a minute of the action on Van Isle Ford Bulldogs Hockey on 93.3 The Peak FM with myself, Bruce MacDonald and Dan Tisserand. The pregame show gets underway at 2:45 with the puck drop and play-by-play to follow at 3:00pm.
