Dogs host Silverbacks tonight, Armada Boys and Girls play for Totem '59 titles...

These teams haven't seen each other yet this season, but they will get familiar with each other in a hurry. The Bulldogs (11-22-2-,5 - 5th Island) play host the Silverbacks (20-14-1-5, 4th Interior) tonight before they hit the road next week to visit the Backs on Friday night for the second meeting between the teams in less than a week.

The Bulldogs are coming off a heartbreaking 2-1 OT loss last night in Cowichan that saw them fall three points back. The Caps would probably disagree, or claim that the final result is all that matters, but the Bulldogs carried more of the play and were the better team. Having said that, only one goal isn't going to win you many games. The Dogs need to forget the tough loss, and realize that one of their games in hand on the Capitals is this one tonight. The Silverbacks dropped a 3-1 decision to the Kings in Powell River last night. Coupled with a come-from-behind win for the Centennials in Nanaimo, and the Silverbacks now have just a two point lead over the Cents for the final Playoff spot in the Interior. Points are huge for both sides in this one.

Catch all the action on Van Isle Ford Bulldogs Hockey on 93.3 The Peak FM tonight with the pregame show at 6:45 and the puck drop to follow at 7:00 with myself, Bruce MacDonald and Dan Tisserand bringing you the Play-by-Play, Colour/Analysis and stats respectively.

Tonight's 2nd Intermission guest is former Bulldog Jordan Kremyr, recently loaned to the AHL's Abbotsford Heat by the ECHL's Alaska Aces.

The Armada Boys and Girls teams have been lights out at Totem 59 so far, both running up 2 and 0 records to secure berths in tonight's Finals. The Girls beat Woodlands 55-26 and St. Andrews 77-25. They will play for the title at approximately 7:30 tonight in the ADSS Gym.

The Boys beat Woodlands 61-41 and Parkland 75-36, booking their ticket into the title game at 5:45 tonight.

All times are approximate! Get to ADSS and the Athletic Hall today/tonight to check out the action, bring your radio with you to keep up on the Dogs game, and maybe head over to the rink for the third period if Totem ends in time! Great idea put out by Bruce on the broadcast last night.
