ALL BULLDOGS - Training Camp, Lough Captain, Golf Tournament...

The Bulldogs 2012-2013 season kicked off with the Golf Tournament on Saturday as most of you already know - thanks to Kaicee for the great picture above of everyone who came out. A pretty cool announcement puncuated the evening, as Ryan Lough was named Captain for the upcoming season.

Training Camp officially opens today!

The Bulldogs main camp starts today at 10am. Below you will find the camp schedule. The traditional red/white game is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug 22nd at 7pm showcasing the top players from the 3-day main camp. 

We have 55 players at camp this season, which includes the returning and committed players. We also have several players that are 15 and 16 years old (born in 96 and 97) that are at camp to get the experience and hopefully become affiliate players in our development system.

11 players that are residents of Port Alberni and/or AVMHA minor hockey products:

- Matt Larose (AVMHA product and former ADSS Skills Academy student)

- Dylan Haugen, 1994-born, appeared in 14 regular season games in 2011/12 with the Bulldogs, Port Alberni, BC

- Dustin Diemert, 1993-born, played Junior B in Grand Forks, Port Alberni, BC

- Logan Savard, 1996-born, played Midget rep for Alberni Valley Midget A Bulldogs, Port Alberni, BC

- Jakob Bottaro, 1997-born, played on the Bantam Rep Bulldogs, Port Alberni, BC

- Josh Harvey, 1997-born, played on the Bantam Rep Bulldogs, Port Alberni, BC

- Ethan Sundstrum, 1997-born, played on the Bantam Rep Bulldogs, Port Alberni, BC

- Bryce Dirocco, 1995-born, played Midget rep for Alberni Valley Midget A Bulldogs, Port Alberni, BC

- Brady Janzen, 1993-born, played Junior B for the Campbell River Storm, Port Alberni, BC

- Keenan McConnell, 1993-born, played Junior B for the Oceanside Generals and appeared in 5 games for the Bulldogs in 2011/12, Port Alberni, BC

- Ryan White, 1994-born, played Junior B for the Campbell River Storm, Port Alberni, BC

6 Other Vancouver Island products:

- Evan Tironese, returning Bulldog, Qualicum Beach, BC

- Garrett Dunlop, played Major Midget for the North Island Silvertips, Nanaimo, BC

- Zach Funk, signed by the Bulldogs as the 16-year-old player, Nanaimo, BC

- Quentin McShane, played Major Midget for the North Island Silvertips, Qualicum Beach, BC

- Spencer Loverock, played Junior B for Peninsula Panthers, North Saanich, BC 

- James Sneddon, affiliated with the Oceanside Generals, Parksville, BC

Many of the above-named players were invited to practice with the Bulldogs at some point in the 2011/12 season. Having these prospects practice with us allows them to experience first-hand the speed and skill at the Junior A level,  plays a small part in their overall development, and allows them to measure their skills against full time Alberni Valley Bulldogs players.
