Bulldogs Take A Bite Out Of Cancer
PRESS RELEASE

October 1, 2011
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE


Port Alberni, BC – The Alberni Valley Bulldogs announced today that for the 3rd year in
a row the team is joining forces with local sponsors and the Cancer Society to
continue the FIGHT AGAINST BREAST CANCER.

 At all home games in the month of October, Bulldogs players
will be wearing special pink jerseys and socks in support of the
fight against cancer. The dates of the home games are
Sunday, October 2nd, Tuesday, October 4th, Friday, October
21st, and Sunday, October 23rd.

“Raising awareness and funds for the fight against cancer is a
wonderful cause,” said Bulldogs’ Director of Marketing and
Public Relations Laurie Smillie. “The Bulldogs organization
and players are very proud and excited to be involved for a 3rd
straight year.”

Local business are stepping up to sponsor the pink jerseys which will be put on
display at the sponsor’s place of business from October 6th to October 19th. Ballot
boxes will be located next to the jerseys. For a minimum donation of $2.00 people are
encouraged to come to the sponsor’s business and enter for a chance to win one of
the 21 special pink jerseys. The draw will take place at the last home game of the
month.

In addition to having the company name on the back of the pink jerseys, sponsors will
benefit from in-game announcements, website presence, special program inserts,
being a part of the jersey presentation at the final home game in October, and having
the jersey displayed at the sponsor’s business and the traffic that it will generate.
