Dogs 3 Express 3

Great effort by the Dogs, as they battled to earn a point playing their fourth game in 5 days.

The Dogs got a gift before the game was 30 seconds old as Khaleed Devji lazily played the puck on a dump in and almost scored on himself before Casey Bailey tapped it in to make it 1-0.

The Express would tie it on controversial goal #1 of the night as the goal light flickered on during a scramble.

The referee, positioned somewhere around the blue line, somehow had a vantage point where he was able to make the call to allow the goal.

The Express scored a no doubter just 14 seconds later to go up 2-1 after one period.

The Dogs were given a 7 minute powerplay in the second after Mitch Pacey jumped Ryan Renz to pick up 2 5 and 10. The first four minutes of the powerplay weren't very good for the Dogs, but they battled back to get the equalizer when Justin Morello, Saywer Mick and Brandon Adams got some powerplay time. They would simply get the puck to the net, being rewarded when Sawyer Mick fired home a rebound off a Brandon Adams shot to tie it at 2-2. It was 3-2 Dogs late in the second when Josh Mitchell hustled to a dump in and threw it to the slot where Casey Bailey one-timed it home for. 3-2 Dogs lead after 2.

The scored stayed that way until the Express tied the game on controversial goal #2 with zero time remaining in the game. I was watching the clock, and it looked like time had run out. Unfortunately none of the officials were watching the clock, as they seemed to have no idea - goal or no goal. End result, goal Express, game tied 3-3.

Credit to the Express for finding the net on the play - don't quit until you hear that whistle.

Its a developmental league, even for the officials, as evidenced by last nights linesman being todays referee, and the quality of officiating the Bulldogs saw on their last two games of this roadtrip, which was sub-standard at best.

Up next, Around the Pound - The Bulldog Hockey Show on 93.3 The Peak tomorrow night from 6 to 7pm.

if THEY listened to your broadcast, they would know that the goal was scored AFTER the game ended!
