Frank Slubowski Commits to the University of Western
Michigan

Press Release
October 30th 2010

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs would like to announce
90 G Frank Slubowski has committed to The University
of Western Michigan for the fall of 2011.

The 20 year old goalie from Prince Rupert, British
Columbia backstopped the Bulldogs in 2009-2010 to a
franchise season in wins and points. Slubowski had a
record of 32 -10-1 with a 2.24
GAA and 91.94 save percentage.

So far in 2010-2011, Slubowski posts a 8-4-1 record with a
2.72 GAA and 91.48 save percentage.

"Frank is a quality person, who has worked extremely hard
for this opportunity, we are proud to see Frank accomplish
his goal of attaining an NCAA Division I scholarship"
comments Bulldogs GM/Head Coach Paul Esdale.

"Frank's story is a special one. He persevered through
tough times when he missed the whole 2008-2009 season with an injury. Franks
dedication and commitment has led him to this point. I have no doubt he will
develop into an outstanding college goalie, "adds Esdale.

The University of Western Michigan Broncos compete in the Central Collegiate
Hockey Association (CCHA) of the NCAA Division 1.
Tonight's first intermission guest will be Bulldogs Netminder Kiefer Giroux. Nanaimo Clippers Play-by-Play Voice Dan Marshall joins me in the second intermission show. The Clippers lost a heart breaker at home last night to Langley and now have tonight off to prepare for the Dogs tomorrow.
