Two 5 on 3 power play goals equals a 4-2 Grizzlies win.
Dogs out shoot the Grizzlies 34-19 yet lose the game with a late empty netter. Grizzlies take all three stars. Yawn.
Opportunistic would be a good way to describe the Grizzlies tonight.
From the Victoria Times Colonist here's a report on the game by Sharie Epp,. click to read "Grizzlies' goalie helps his team pull one out"
The Dogs are back at it tonight as they host the Prince George Spruce Kings. The Kings have had a rough go of it so far in two games on the Island, losing 10-2 in Nanaimo last night and 7-4 in Cowichan on Wednesday.
The Dogs will either face a team that is VERY motivated to try and turn their trip around, or a team that is very ready to get on the bus and go home and get it over with. I wouldn't underestimate the pride of the Spruce Kings players so the key for the Dogs would be to prepare for the very motivated team, as preparing for anything other that would have very ugly consequences.
Don't forget tonight's 2nd Intermission feature interview is former Bulldog and now UBC Thunderbird Tyler Ruel. The T-Birds are in Victoria tonight and tomorrow afternoon, taking on the ECHL's Salmon Kings in Exhibition action.
What a scary scene last night in Atlanta....Read more from tsn.ca regarding Thrashers goalie Ondrej Pavelec collapsing
There are some almost errie similarities to this and Frank Riddle taking the hit just 5 minutes into the Dogs season. The words of the players in the TSN article explain the Dogs reaction during the game and also the words I was saying on the air are close to the words that the Capitals broadcaster was also trying to find. Just a scary incident that no one wants to see.
