Bulldog Alumni Updates, etc etc

I can't say how much I appreciate it when I get a "Heads Up" on what former Bulldogs are up to. I'm just too consumed with the RIGHT NOW to follow everything else happening everywhere else.....It's a long list when it comes to people to keep me up to date - family, friends, billets, parents, fans, just the players themselves. To you all, THANKS, because the fans appreciate it!

Here's a couple pictures of former Bulldog Captain Devin Timberlake in ECHL Exhibition Action with the Alaska Aces on their "purple with purpose" night for Cancer Awareness.

The Aces open their season this Friday, and they release their roster sometime today. Check out their website here

Here's a nice note - and a very interesting note from Scott Moulson, father of Bulldog forward Chris Moulson, now playing with Cornell

Dear Hammer,

Way to Go on Ultimate Fishing Town! Voted for you guys 14 times and told Chris and a few friends to do the same. Guess it helped.

If PA doesn't have anyone in the So You Think You Can Dance Canada 2010 competition, any chance you could steer a few Alberni votes to Amanda Cleghorn.  There is a hockey connection - she's the "little sister" of one of my former players and a descendant of Bruin alum, Sprague Cleghorn.

Good to see the dogs having another great season.  Chris says "hi" to everyone.

Take Care,
Scott Moulson

You got my vote Amanda, and thanks for the note Scott!

(That is the FIRST and LAST and ONLY and EVER time I will mention So You Think You Can Dance on this blog!)

Thanks Tony for the update here on former Dogs Warren Muir and Aaron Brocklehurst

Hammer

Some tidbits of info on ex Dogs..... Warren Muir and Aaaron Brocklehurst.....in case you don’t have this info...

Warren Muir is off to a great start in his College career for SAIT in Alberta....His team is 2 and 0 to start the season and Warren has 3 goals and 1 assist in those 2 games...

Aaron Brocklehurst is playing for Lukko Rauma in the SM-Liiga which is the top professional league in Finland....after 11 games he is their top scoring defenseman with 2 goals and 5 assists....I would imagine there are a lot of top end players in that league...but with the way Aaron can skate I am sure he fits right in...

This one has been sent to me several times - David Dziurzynski's younger brother was named this week's WHL player of the week....

Monday October 11, 2010

CALGARY, AB. – The WHL Player of the Week is forward Darian Dziurzynski of the Saskatoon Blades.  Dziurzynski scored five goals and had a +3 rating, in just two games this past week.

On Wednesday, October 6th the Saskatoon Blades hosted the U.S. Division powerhouse Tri-City Americans to the Credit Union Centre.  Dziurzynski found the net twice leading the Blades to a 5-3 victory and was named the games 2nd Star.  On Friday, October 8th, East Division rivals the Moose Jaw Warriors travelled to Saskatoon to face the Blades.  Dziurzynski had a 1st Star performance netting three goals for the hat-trick including a short-handed marker leading the Blades to a 6-4 win over the Warriors.

Dziurzynski’s five goals this past week has him sitting 3rd among all WHL goal scorers with seven goals in seven games.  The Saskatoon Blades have won four straight contests and currently sit in top spot of the WHL East Division with a 6-1-0-0 record.

Dziurzynski, a 19-year-old from Lloydminster, Alberta, is entering his fourth full season with the Saskatoon Blades.  The undrafted winger has appeared in 174 career games with the Blades scoring 34 goals, 32 assists and 66 points.

Speaking of David Dziurzynski, thanks to Binghamton Senators Event Staffer Bill who sent in this picture. Dziurzynski has some BCHL'ers as teammates in Binghamton - Patrick Wiercioch and Colin Greening to name a few.

That's it for now.
