Canada doesn't officially own the podium, they own the top of the podium but that is all. Which is an achievment in itself. As for the COC giving up on own the podium they are right, we are not owning the podium, the Americans are.
I was told that the IOC considers the team with the most gold medals as the champions of the olympics...if that's indeed the case - OWN IT CANADA!
