Road Trip Diary #1
Usually I get a sleep in when I don't have to do the morning show but today the time line is pretty close.
A pretty chilly morning by Port Alberni standards, -7, and -11 with the windchill. I just checked Quesnel, and its also -11 so a nice prep for the guys this AM maybe.
I've just been informed that I'm in charge of the bus til Nanaimo as the staff are driving down to meet us there. This is too much responsibility this early in the AM! Don't worry Ronnie will get us there safe. With his awesome circa 1960's Port Alberni hat.
6:39am the wheels are rolling and we're on our way. I have never worked with a team as habitually early as this one..Keeps me on my toes.
I'll spend the next while here on the bus writing my "Weekend Preview" article for the Bulldogs website, I'm hoping to get it done by Nanaimo so I can watch some TV on the ferry...provided we are riding one of the new ones. If we aren't, I have selected some great titles out of my DVD library for the roadie entertainment - one of the Family Guy Box Sets, and a 4 DVD box set called "Gold Standard" that chronicles the Canadian World Junior Program from the early 80's to 2007 or so. With 6 or 7 full-length "classic games" from Team Canada's past in the set, I'm sure I'll be entertained.
6:48 just passing Coombs Country Candy. Au revoir Port Alberni, see you Monday! And of course talk to you tomorrow night from PG!
More updates to come through the day, hope you enjoy them.
