Dogs host Express looking for 5th win in a row....Marcello Ranallo interview 2nd intermission show

The Dogs look for their 5th win in a row as they host the struggling Burnaby Express, losers of six in a row after they were shut out 3-0 last night in Cowichan.

Congrats to Port Alberni Native Laurent Brossoit for picking up his first career shut out in net after a tough night in the Pound Wednesday where he didn't get a lot of help in the first 35 or so minutes giving up 5 goals against the Dogs.

The Express are hurting in the win/loss column. They have lost six in a row. They have won just 1 of their last 10 games.

If you look at the month of October as a whole, it's simply not pretty - 12 losses in 14 games.

Having said all this, don't take the Express lightly. As the Kings were when they came into town on Friday, the Express will probably be a desperate team. And the Dogs know after Friday how tough a desperate hungry team can be to play against.

The only previous game between these teams was Halloween night in Burnaby, where the Dogs built up a 3-0 lead early in the second on goals by Mitch MacMillan, David Dziurzynski, and Warren Muir. But the Express fought back with a short handed goal, and a 5 on 3 power play goal to make it 3-2 and it was closer the rest of the way than the Dogs would have liked as they needed a Trent Dorais empty netter in the final minute to seal the deal.

Catch it all on 93.3 The Peak FM, and on our website at www.933thepeak.com with the pregame show at 2:15 and the puck drop at 2:30.

Former Bulldog Marcello Ranallo, now at UCONN, will be my second intermission guest!
