"Bulldogs trainer ups her own game" + Men's Club update from the Alberni Golf Club

My thanks to Dan the stats man for sending me this great story on Bulldogs Trainer Jess Moser by Shane Morrow from the Alberni Valley Times!

I've said it many times before, and I'll say it again - the team, the players, the coaching staff, the parents - are all very lucky to have someone as professional as Jess looking after their kids.

Here's an update from Gerry Fagan regarding the recent Men's Club happenings out at the Alberni Golf Club! Thanks Gerry!

The turnout was excellent as 76 men teed it up for the first annual Wack and Hack Tournament. After Club Captain Craig Acland and Livio Tedesco tallied the scores a couple of times, the team of Fred Fredrickson, Brent Stolth, Jamie Fredrickson and Tylo Smith came out the winners. In Second place was Cory Nielson, Jim Proteau, Gord Cutting and Shiv Dass, third spot went to Steve White, Jerry White Mickey Keeley and Gene Kimoto, Fourth was Livio Tedesco, Craig Acland, Clint Wilson and Gerry Blender, Fifth went to Dave Turner, Mike Buffie, Randy Buffie and Gerry Hodgris, with the final prize going to Sam Parhar, Brett Parhar, Ken Fong and James Haggard. Many thanks to the Toronto Dominion Bank for their generous contribution to the day.

Here’s something you don’t see very often, the Charity closest to the Pin on # 2 was won by Steve White and Priban Rasmussen, after measuring several times were the exact same distance form the hole. They will split the pot of $39. Other Closest to the pin winners were, Jamie Fredrickson on # 4, Gary Korven on # 13, Ned Stewart on # 17 and Carl Poole for his second shot on # 6.

The two draws for $50 each were won by Francis Gaetz and new member to the Men’s Club Jim Cassin, We would like to welcome Jim to the Men’s Club as well as, Tylo Smith and Cliff Olaney.

In the ball sweep Lloyd Fairley had the best of the day shooting a gross 74 to take home 3 balls, Jacques Giovetti came in with 76 to go away with 2 balls, while Cory Nielson and Preban Rasmussen both shot 77 to win one ball each. On the net side, Brent Mottishaw shot 67 to win 3 balls, Fred Fredrickson also came in with 67 to take home 2 balls, Livio Tedesco shot 68 to win 1 ball and Peter Mugleston shot 69 to win 1 ball.

Next week is an open day, with the ball sweep, money pot and closest to the pin up for grabs, along with the Charity closest to the pin. Don’t forget guys, for every Sunday you play your name goes in that many times for cash draws at the wind up on October 4th.
