Some stuff for the NEW fans....and some memories for the old ones

With the newly committed players, I'm sure we'll have a large group as always of new fans. Parents, siblings, extended family, friends, girlfriends, etc etc etc.

So for you guys and gals, here's some stuff that might show you what the Alberni Valley Multiplex and the hockey fans here are all about, what the Valley is like, etc etc etc.

First - The Dog Pound.

And inside

The "Send off at the Summitt" from 2005-2006 Mild Language warning.

Send off on the Summit
Two years later, I have chosen to "publish" this video. Language warning, not for the kids. Nothing too bad, but beware. The players were truly shocked seeing so many people at the top of the hump to send them off to Nanaimo to face the Clippers

The Welcome Home. The 2007-2008 Alberni Valley Bulldogs are welcomed by their fans upon returning to the Multiplex after ending their season with a 4-3 overtime win over the Powell River Kings

The best regular season. 2005-2006. Highlights.

The final game of the 2008-2009 season

I'll take a guess that the Alberni Valley Multiplex hasn't been this loud since the playoffs of 2005-2006. The 2009 World U17 Challenge, and an absolutely incredible finish between two bitter hockey rivals, no matter what the age bracket.

It's not ALL hockey here. It's sports of all sorts, and it's beautiful scenery too.

Port Alberni is the home of 2008 Olympian Travis Cross....

After qualifying for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Travis Cross is welcomed by a standing ovation from 200 supporters, friends, family and sponsors as he is marched in by a piper to the Upper Lounge of the Alberni Valley Multiplex on December 18th 2007, at Port Alberni, B.C.

The "lookout"

Thanks to Crystal for being my guide up the trail to the top of the lookout. What an incredible view of Port Alberni and the Alberni Valley! It's even beautiful with a poor quality cell phone video.

Copper Mountain

Again another incredible view of Port Alberni, the Alberni Inlet, and the Alberni Valley. This one is from Copper Mountain. Many thanks to Darryl for getting me up there to take this video with my cell phone!

Port Alberni Tall Ships 2008

On the water with Six Gill Adventures in the Alberni Inlet for the Gun Battles during the Port Alberni Festival of Sails 2008

That's about it for now.
