Nolan Graham new Bulldogs Coach and GM, Back from Vancouver...

This isn't breaking news by any means, as the Bulldogs announced Nolan Graham as their new Head Coach and GM at a Friday afternoon news conference. To read the release from the Bulldogs site, click THIS LINK

I'm excited at the prospect of Nolan guiding the team now and in the future. I know him from my pregame chats with Bill Bestwick, and he's a great guy with a great personality. And he's also a great interview!

I heard the press conference was well attended which is no surprise. Welcome to the club Nolan!

Now, who's the assistant coach?

UPDATE - I just received my recorder back with some press conference audio.

Click THIS LINK to catch it if you missed it.

Alright....Yes, I had an awesome weekend in Vancouver. Three games in three days. A couple of luxury boxes and a couple of game day skates and visits to the rooms. Some pictures...These are all with my cell phone so again - don't complain about the quality and my picture taking skills, or lack there of.

Heading to Pacific Coliseum Friday night

A season high 14,000 plus packed the barn for the Giants vs Hitmen. Most of them unfortunately went home unhappy with Calgary winning 4-0.
The view from one of the Luxury Suites...Yes I know, I'm a lucky guy!
I felt even luckier when I turned around to see none other than PAT QUINN walking into the suite. What a cool guy Quinn is. I was introduced to him as "the play-by-play voice of the Alberni Valley Bulldogs" and Quinn said "I trust Andy Oakes arrived there safely today, I had coffee with him this morning" I told Pat I wasn't sure as I missed the press conference but I'm sure everything went well. Pat had nothing but good things to say about Andy. It just kind of blew my mind when that came out of his mouth. What a cool guy Quinn is.
Attending the game-day skates for the Canucks and the Sharks...Sadly, I couldn't be walking around all bug-eyed with my camera out taking pictures. OK, I'm sure I WAS bug eyed a little bit, but I tried to play it cool. I had to grab one picture off my phone down the tunnel outside the Canucks room. Cool!

I swear the one guy was Marcus Naslund, but I know that doesn't make sense!

Sharks skate. All the while, I was able to hang out with Sharks play-by-play voice Randy Hahn. Randy is about as cool as they come. Thanks for your time Randy!
Just across the street from BC Place - "the pound" sure reminded me of the Alberni Valley Multiplex. Just had to grab a picture.
GAMETIME!
During the second period my cell phone rings. It's none other than Bulldogs bus driver Ron Sandberg, who's up in a luxury box. Ron says they have a couple of extra tickets to come upstairs, and would we like to head up top.....um......YES PLEASE.

Nice
One more hockey game Sunday...Or at least a couple periods of one - Vancouver Giants vs Kamloops. Another nice day on the way to "the rink on Renfrew"

How weather changes...Leaving the game - a full on blizzard!

A view from up top in Pacific Coliseum. What a beauty of a barn.

That's it for now! Thanks to all, and thanks again to the Bulldogs. It was an incredible time.
