This game was somewhat boring, almost resembling 2002 or so NHL hockey, and then all of a sudden a great example of exciting BCHL action broke out in the third period.
The Grizzlies looked good, but too loose after they went up 3-1, allowing Nanaimo to come back and tie things up. No Evan Pighin in the lineup or sightings around the Frank Crane. Although the whispers around the rink from several people said he'll be a Grizz soon. Wishful thinking, just plain speculation, or truth? I certainly don't know!
Huge credit to the Clippers as they trailed 2-0 before getting on the board to make it 2-1. Seconds later, what could've been a penalty against Victoria turned into a breakaway and a 3-1 lead for the Grizz. The Clippers didn't quit though and fought back with two quick ones.
Good crowd, good hockey in the end. The Clippers started 6 and 0 last year, and what 9 and 0 the year before? With tonight's loss one thing is for sure - the Bulldogs won't be able to run their streak of three seasons in a row of handing the Clippers their first defeat of the campaign, which they did the last two years.
Bed time for me, I'll wave at you from the Fall Fair Parade tomorrow!
