Pighin not playing - that's a plus note for AVB tonight. The game this evening will be a good indication if the new ownership has done their job in recruiting a winning team like they said they would this season. The current ownership has done all of the recruiting this year. Time will tell. Good Luck to the boys, the fans are behind you 100%. Looking forward to the opening game ceremonies.
I don't think ownership ever said they were recruiting a winning team. I think they said that they are trying to improve the culture, improve over last season and make the playoffs. I don't think it would be fair to judge a team in game 1. Perrier's teams (which have averaged about 35 wins a year) always start a bit slow because he gets things in place. Once again, I am all for high standards. But, championships are not won in September. This is a team that will be much different in March. Ownership never promised a championship on September 12th.
