The 2009 World U17 Challenge folks need volunteers! Read on.....

Alberni Valley organizers have put out the call for volunteers for the upcoming 2009 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.
Opportunities for volunteers will include medical, food services, security, transportation, communications, media relations, game operations, special events and more. All applicants must be 16 years of age by the start of the tournament and must be able to commit at least 30 hours to the event.
Volunteer coordinator Tim Mulligan will be looking for approximately 300 individuals in the valley and across the central island for the tournament, which runs from December 28 to January 4. Volunteers are also needed to work on advance components starting this month in some areas.
Application forms can be completed online at www.ourgameourfuture.com.
For individuals that do not have Internet access, copies of the form are available at City Hall or from Tim Mulligan at BMO Bank of Montreal on 3rd Avenue in Port Alberni.
