Wow......I don't know what to say about this one. Does Crawford sue Burke now? Where does it end? In Crow's defense "pay the price" doesn't mean "sucker punch and injure"
NHL-Bertuzzi-Lawsuit
Bertuzzi files lawsuit against his ex-coach over infamous sucker punch on Moore
TORONTO - There's a report that NHL forward Todd Bertuzzi has filed a lawsuit against former Vancouver Canucks coach Marc Crawford, alleging that negligence on the part of Crawford contributed to Bertuzzi's infamous sucker punch on Steve Moore in March, 2004.
The CBC reports the lawsuit alleges that Crawford urged his players, including Bertuzzi, to make Moore `pay the price' for a hit against Vancouver captain Markus Naslund in an earlier game.
According to the CBC, the suit alleges that Crawford, now the coach of the Los Angeles Kings, `knew or ought to have known that this was likely to result in injury to Moore.'
The allegations have not been proven in court.
During the game, Bertuzzi jumped the Colorado Avalanche's Moore, punching him from behind and then falling on top of him.
Moore, who hasn't played since, has launched a multi-million dollar lawsuit against Bertuzzi that's now before the courts.
