Final- Dogs 6 Clippers 3

The Bulldogs won their first game of the exhibition season tonight, 6-3 over the Clippers at Frank Crane Arena. Sadly, I couldn't make it down to the game with commitments here in the Valley with Salmon Festival. Many thanks to Gary (AKA LRT) who caught the game after being in Nanaimo today on work, as he updated me throughout the game and passed along the final score.

Sounded like a great game for Sawyer Eichel and Marcello Ranallo.

Yes, it's just exhibition, but it's always nice to win.

Thoughts from anyone that was there? Please post below in the comments section!

Thanks for stopping by, see you at the 'Pound tomorrow!

We won! Not the same as watching a regular season game vs the Clippers! Really not that exciting! Did notice the asst coach was really "hands on" with the players. Good to see.

I didn't have a program and with no name bars on the sweaters, it was difficult to identify players out there.

I can tell you Marcello Ranallo scored two nice goals - one shorthanded and another on a breakaway. Sawyer Eichel was on fire, scoring once and adding three assists.
Starting goalie Lewis looked pretty good as did Genoe in relief midway through the second period.

Kevin Ross also scored for AV but I can't remember the rest (LOL)

Bestwick did not dress his "vets" but I suspect he will for tonight's visit to the Pound...

For the Bulldogs, Alan Kerr evaluated from the stands while Bryant Perrier ran the bench...

All in all, not a bad effort. Some decent team speed and of course the usual amount of lame penalty calls. Of note, the Dogs did kill off two 5-on-3's...

Hope for a strong showing tonight...

Thanks again Gary for the info on the goal scorers.

Also, I must say thanks to Dan THE STATS MAN for sending me the link to Scott Brown's story on the game from the Nanaimo Daily News.

Besides those already mentioned, here's who scored-

The additional goals for the Dogs came from Dylan Trumble and Joey Perry.

Clipper goals were scored by rookie David Lawrence, 20-year-old Broadie Zuk, and Eric Filiou.

Thanks of course to Scott Brown as well from the Nanaimo Daily News for being the source on this!
